SUPER TERADRY DESICCANT is a white, odorless, hygroscopic, hygroscopic mixture of granules and powder used to dehumidify shipping containers. Its main components are calcium chloride, starch and polyethylene.
Certificates of the product No specific certificate of the product is mentioned in the safety data sheet. However, in the Regulatory Information section, it is stated that it complies with the EU CLP Regulation (1272/2008) and the Turkish KKDİK Regulation.
WHY USE IT?
In the safety data sheet, the product is described as “Dehumidifier in shipping containers”. This indicates that the product should be used to protect the transported products against damage caused by moisture by keeping the humidity in the container under control during transportation.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The working principle of the product is not described in detail in the safety data sheet. However, the expression “hygroscopic mixture of granules and powder” suggests that the product works by absorbing moisture from the air. Calcium chloride is known to be moisture absorbent and it can be said that the main dehumidification mechanism of this product is based on this component.
APPLICATION AREAS
The only application specified in the safety data sheet is in transportation containers. This product is used to prevent the adverse effects of moisture in containers during sea, road or rail transportation.
TECHNICAL PERFORMANCE: The safety data sheet does not contain numerical data on the technical performance of the product (dehumidification capacity, etc.). However, it is stated that it absorbs moisture thanks to its “hygroscopic” feature.
SAFETY:
- Hazard Identification: Eye Irritation, Category 2 (H319) – May cause serious eye irritation.
- Precautionary Statements: It is important to use the necessary personal protective equipment (such as goggles) to avoid eye irritation (P280). Wash hands thoroughly after handling the product (P264). In case of contact with eyes, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water and remove any contact lenses (P305+P351+P338). If eye irritation persists, seek medical advice (P337+P313).
- No significant effects are reported in case of ingestion, inhalation or skin contact.
- Not flammable.
USE:
- Use in well ventilated areas and with appropriate protective equipment.
- In case of accident, eye and skin contact should be avoided, spilled material should be collected with an absorbent material and cleaned with plenty of water.
- Store in original packaging in a dry and cool place.
